In a tragic turn of events, Pakistani actor and reality television star Humaira Asghar was found dead in her apartment in Karachi. According to police officials, her body was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition. Humaira had been living on rent in an apartment located in a place called Ittehad Commercial. Her sudden demise has left the Pakistani entertainment industry in shock, with several celebrities expressing their grief and condolences on social media.
Who was Humaira Asghar?
Humaira Asghar was a reality TV star, model, and actor from Pakistan. She was born in Lahore and attended the College of Art & Design (PUCAD) and the National College of Arts (NCA) in Lahore for her formal education in the visual and performing arts. After starting her modelling career in 2013, she made the switch to television, making appearances on programs like Sirat-e-Mustaqeem, Benaam, Chal Dil Mere, and Laali.

She made her film debut in 2015 with Jalaibee and was last seen on the big screen in the 2021 film Love Vaccine. After taking part in the 2022 Pakistani reality show Tamasha Ghar, which airs on ARY Digital and has a structure akin to Bigg Boss, Humaira's fame grew. Her most recent appearance was in the critically acclaimed television drama Esaan Faramosh.
She received the National Woman Leadership Award for Best Emerging Talent & Rising Star in 2023. She expressed her appreciation on Instagram, writing, "This award means so much to me, not just as an individual, as a qualified actress and artist, but also as a symbol of what women can achieve and support to thrive if they are given the best opportunities." Humaira had more than 715,000 Instagram followers, but she wasn't very active on the site. The date of her most recent post was September 30, 2024. She was also a painter and sculptor, according to her Instagram bio, and she used to post videos that showed off her exercise regimen.
Humaira Asghar’s death
Dawn claims that Humaira's body was found by police on Tuesday in her flat in Karachi's Defence Housing Authority (DHA). The police had come to enforce a court order to leave the flat, DIG South disclosed. At 3:15 p.m., officers from the Gizri Police Station arrived at the scene. They forced their way into the flat and discovered her dead when the door was unanswered.
According to SSP South Mahzoor Ali, the landlord sought a court order for eviction because Humaira had not paid rent since 2024. For a post-mortem examination, her body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. According to police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed, the body had been there for a few days and was in a "very advanced stage of decomposition." Amar Khan, Mawra Hocane, Adnan Siddiqui, and Hina Altaf are among the celebrities who have expressed shock and sadness over her sudden passing.
